The infrastructure of Ooty is good and well maintained. Since it is an important tourist destination the so the government takes good care of the things that support tourism here.

The roads to Ooty are very nicely maintained so that the tourists need not face any trouble to reach Ooty. There are regular transport services to and from this place. The network of roads connect this hill station to all the important cities and towns in the region.

Ooty can also be reached by train. There is a railway station in the town from where rail transports can be availed to reach Mettupalayam. Ooty does not have an airport of its own but the town is well connected to Coimbatore by road, from where air transports can be availed.

Apart from tourism the other important industries that support the economy of Ooty are related to perfume manufacture and tea processing and manufacture. The vast tea estates contribute extensively to the economy of this hill town. The Tea and Tourism festival that is held annually in Ooty draws many visitors to this place. Forestry is also an important part of the economy of this place.

The Electricity Board operates from the Glen Morgen area. Power supply in Ooty is also very good and well maintained.

There are many schools and colleges in Ooty. There are two renowned Hotel Management institutes here, to support the hospitality industry here.

The infrastructure of Ooty is still being developed to meet the requirements of the ever flourishing tourism industry here.
