Reaching Ooty by rail is not a difficult thing at all. This hill resort has a railway station of its own. It is connected to Mettupalayam by a narrow gauge train. So in case one wants to avoid a road journey the travelers can plan to reach Ooty by train.
Mettupalayam is located at a distance of about 45 kilometers from Ooty. The hill station is connected to other important South Indian rail junctions by this station. Mellupattayam connects Ooty to these stations through Chennai and Coimbatore.
The Coimbatore rail station is also not far away from Ooty. Thus trains from this station can also be availed to reach any destination in India.
One can also opt for the toy train journey in order to reach Ooty by train. Apart from Mettupalayam, the toy train also connects this hill town to Coonoor, another nearby hill station.
The hill station of Ooty is also connected by roads to other cities of South India.
