Orchha by Train

The easiest way to reach Orchha by train is to take a train to Jhansi and then avail one of the innumerable buses that are scheduled to ply to Orchha every half an hour. Jhansi is one of the most important railway terminals of Central India that is sited at a distance of 16 km from Orchha. Jhansi, an Uttar Pradesh city is also an eminent tourist destination of the Indian subcontinent owing to its erstwhile gallant queen Lakshmibai who fought valiantly to protect her kingdom from the hands of the British Raj

The Jhansi rail head is located on the Mumbai-Agra-Delhi and the Delhi-Chennai main line and hence is connected with all major cities of India. A large number of important express and mail trains stop by Jhansi en route to their destination.

One of the important trains that pass through the Jhansi Railway Station include the super fast Shatabdi Exp #2002 that travels to Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh via Agra. Tourists can also travel to Orchha from these cities. Although the tickets are priced at steep rates, train is very punctual and clean.
