Orissa Waterfalls

The undulating topography of the state is endowed with a number of Orissa waterfalls. Crisscrossed by several rivers, the Rivers in Orissa are mostly fed by the monsoon rains. It is from these rivers that the Orissa waterfalls originates. Gushing down the gorges and river valleys the Orissa waterfalls run down to meet the Bay of Bengal. There are a number of beautiful Orissa waterfalls, these include:

Putudi Falls: The Putudi Falls is located at a distance of 15 Kilometers from Phulbani. The beauty of the Putudi Falls is aggravated by its surrounding forest covered hill.

Khandadhar Falls: This is one of the most popular Orissa waterfalls. The very location of the Khandadhar Falls is bound to mesmerize the tourist.

Harishankar Falls: At a distance of about 81 Kilometers from Balangir, the Harishankar Falls runs down the Gandhamardan hills. This perennial stream washes down the pilgrimage site of Harishankar which also acts as a natural shower for the pilgrims.

Duduma Falls:Also known as the Matsya Tirtha, this Orissa waterfall is famous for its natural beauty as well as for its Machhakund Hydro-Electric Project.

Khanduala Falls: This Orissa waterfalls is located within the Karlapat Wildlife Sanctuary which is about 32 kilometers from Bhawanipatna. The waterfall derived its name from Goddess Khanduala who is believed to reside on the top of the hill.

Phurli Jharan Falls: Creating a magical ambiance, the Phurli Jharan Falls shoots down from a height of 16 meters creating a shower of crystals.
