The city of Bhandara is the administrative headquarters of Bhandara district in the state of Maharashtra.
Bhandara Parliamentary Constituency has a population of 85,034 (2001 census). Males comprise 51% of the total population while females constitute the rest of 49%.
Though BJP candidates have won the last 2 elections (1999 and 2004) from Bhandara Parliamentary Constituency, it is a strong seat for the INC.
