Satara Parliamentary Constituency is situated in western India in the state of Maharashtra. The town’s name comes from the surrounding seven (sat) hills (tara). It is situated near the confluence of the Krishna River and its tributary, Venna. The INC party has won nine times from Satara Parliamentary Constituency.
According to the census of 2001, the town has a population of around 108,043. As per the census report, 52 percent of the population consists of males and 48 percent are females.
