Summary of Odisha Election 2014
The general elections were held in the state in two phases for the 21 Lok Sabha seats of the state. The first phase of polling took place on 10 April 2014, while the second phase was conducted on 17 April 2014.
Phase I polling
The polling took place in Odisha for 10 LS seats on 10 April 2014 at 17,223 polling stations. Total 1,35,39,390 electors were eligible, of which 69,33,068 were male and 66,05,744 were female. In total, 98 candidates contested this poll from the state.

Phase II polling
On 17 April 2014, the state's second and last phase of general election was conducted for 11 parliamentary constituencies of Odisha. Total 1,53,41,460 electors were expected to cast their ballot; however, 73.4% turnout was registered at the 18,673 polling stations on the day of polling, which will decide the fate of 98 candidates. The Election Commission made arrangements at 329 booths to webcast the election process.

Re-polling in three districts
Following incidents of violence on the day of polling, the EC had ordered polling to be re-conducted on 25 April 2014 at nine polling booths in state's three parliamentary constituencies. The turnout witnessed during re-polling was nearly 80%. To keep a check on unexpected developments, web cameras were installed at all the polling booths.
Participation of women
Total 1,39,87,183 females were eligible to cast their vote this election season, of which 74.62% turned up to ballot. However, the female turnout was higher than the male polling percentage (72.53%).
