Puri is a city in the state of Orissa.
As per the census of 2001, Puri Parliamentary Constituency had a population of 157,610, consisting of 52% males and 48% females. Braja Kishore Tripathy of BJD has won from the Puri Parliamentary Constituency seat in the last three elections (1998, 1999 and 2004).
Puri is famous for its Jagannath Temple. Other famous temples in Puri are the Lokanath Temple and the Gundicha Temple. It is a popular beach resort too.
