Lying on the left bank of the Ghaghara River, Faizabad, the sister city of Ayodhya, is a part of Faizabad district in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Faizabad Parliamentary Constituency has a population of around 144,924 (2001 census). BSP candidate, Mitrasen, won the last elections(2004) from Faizabad Parliamentary Constituency.
