Tandoori Potato

Tandoori Potato is a culinary that is very popular in Pondicherry. The taste of tandoori is always one of the top favorites among the Indians and people in Pondicherry are not alien to the tempting taste of Tandoors. Potato Tandoori can serve as a wonderful snack. The people in Pondicherry have the lip-smacking dish of Tandoori of Potato for light snacks as well as during the main meals.

To cook the delightful Tandoori Potato, one will need the following ingredients:

  • Four potatoes of medium size
  • Half a pound Paneer
  • One pinch of black pepper powder
  • Half a teaspoon of garam masala
  • One green pepper that is thinly chopped
  • Two green chilies that is finely chopped, it is optional
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

  • To prepare the royal food item of Tandoori Potato, one first needs to peel off the potatoes and cut the potatoes into perfect halves along the length. One should then heat some oil in a pan to deep-fry the potatoes in it as long as those do not turn into golden brown color. Each of the potato halves are to be scooped out so that the potato halves look like cups. Now in another pan, one needs to heat some oil and fry the followings:
    • Green pepper that is chopped
    • Pieces of green chilies
    • Grated Paneer,
    • Black pepper powder
    • Scooped out part of the potatoes
    • Salt to taste
    All these things are to be fried in the pan and mixed well. This paneer stuffing is to be put into the potato cups. One should keep a baking dish that is greased nearby so that the stuffed potatoes are put into the dish, are baked for about 10 minutes at three hundred degree Fahrenheit, and serve the Tandoori Potato hot.
