Pondicherry University

The Pondicherry University is a much-esteemed university in the union territory of Pondicherry. It was established in the year 1985, in the month of October. It was established and recognized by the Government of India through a Parliamentary act. The University of Pondicherry gets the full aid and support from the University Grants Commission. It provides the university with aids, as the Pondicherry University is a Central University.

The Pondicherry University Campus encompasses a vast area of about seven hundred and eighty acres. Some of the bordering areas of the university complex cover parts of sea beaches in the un-ion territory of Pondicherry. The campus is beautiful and the atmosphere of the university is peace-ful and sublime.

The Pondicherry University has classes inside the university campus on regular basis. Teaching and research works in the Post Graduate Level are carried on sincerely with much vigor. There are also many other colleges in the union territory that are affiliated to the Pondicherry University.

The esteemed University in the union territory of Pondicherry is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. This honored academia of Pondicherry has qualified and has been attributed with the four star level in the academic year 1999-2000 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It is known as NAAC in short.

The university offers cost effective and time saving courses that allow students to complete the courses in shorter period compared to other universities. Since the beginning of the university, a total number of 1, 30,000 students have enrolled. English is the only medium of teaching and the classes are made compulsory for the benefit of the students. The Pondicherry University also conducts distance education courses.
