Pondicherry Governor enjoys the legislative, executive and discretionary powers. Shri Mukut Mithi is the Lt. Governor of Pondicherry who is also known as the youngest of the candidates who have ever served the rank of Governor in Pondicherry.
Before accepting the post of Pondicherry Governor, Shri Mukut Mithi was an invitee to the Congress Working Committee and also served as the President of the Congress State Committee. Born in the year 1952, Shri Mukut Mithi completed his graduation (Bsc) and actively took part in the politics of Arunachal Pradesh.
In the year 1999, Shri Mukut Mithi had been elected as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and remained in that post till the year 2003. Shri Mukut Mithi also held such ranks as the minister of tourism, forests, health and family welfare, sports and youth affairs in Arunachal Pradesh during his political tenure in that state.
Ever since he became the Lt. Governor of Pondicherry, Shi Mukut Mithi is performing well in the socio-political arena of this Union Territory of India.
