Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry

Although Sri Aurobindo Ghosh was a Bengali by birth and born in Calcutta, he spent his post prison days in Pondicherry and dedicated himself to the social and religious causes. It is here in Pondicherry that he explored his spiritual side. He was great nationalist, patriot, scholar, philosopher, poet, yogi and religious guru. He had devoted himself in the development of Pondicherry and still remembered for his works. A mere coincidence but the most interesting fact about the Birth day of Sri Aurobindo is that it falls on the same date as of the Indian Independence Day - 15th August.
