Plage Paradiso

Plage Paradiso Beach is one of the popular and most frequented beaches of Pondicherry. Both local people and the tourists come here to spend their time. The golden sand-beaches with deep blue waters create a magnificent sight for the visitors. After a long sunbath you can also rest in the cool shades of the palm trees.

Plage Paradiso is a lovely beach, spread at a stretch of 1.5 kilometers with golden sands and palm trees. On the shore two important monuments have been built, one is the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and the other is the War Memorial. These two monuments add to the glory of the beach. The French constructed the War Memorial in memory of the soldiers who laid their life in World War 1. Historical facts depict that a number of Anglo-French battles have been witnessed by the beach. You can also relax on the lovely beach by enjoying fishing.

Walking on the soft sand and the waves washing out the sands under your feet is an experience to be enjoyed. Collecting shells and enjoying the unspoiled beauty of the surrounding area are some of the activities you can indulge in Plage Paradiso Beach in Pondicherry. One of the striking fact about the beach is that it is undisturbed and not littered by human population. One of the common sights is the simple and rustic folk engaged in fishing in their boats.
