The political career of Shivraj Patil started with his involvement in the Latur Municipality, the then local government of him in the period of 1967 to 1969. Mr. Shivraj Patil was elected as the President of the Latur Municipal Corporation during 1967 to 1972. In between that time from 1970 to 1972, he even used to teach Law in instituions of Latur as well as Aurangabad.
