One of the important festivals in Punjab, the Birthday of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib is celebrated with utmost fervor. Guru Gobind Singh Sahib - the tenth Nanak of the Sikh religion was born on the twenty second December of the year 1966. The interesting fact about his birthday is that it falls twice a year during the month of December or January in accordance to the Hindu Bakrami calender. The calender is based on the concept of the moon year. On the other hand, the Nanakshahi calender marks the birthday on the fifth of January – that is only once in a year.
