Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagraon

Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagraon is a popular festival in Punjab. The festival is held every year at the memorial of the Sikh saint, Baba Nand Singh Kaleranwale, at a distance of 38 kilometers from Ludhiana. Baba Nand Singh founded Gurdwara Nanaksar decades ago. The annual five days fair is held here to commemorate the Sikh saint Guru Govind Singh.

The Gurudwara has developed into a popular shrine with an international following that includes countries like USA, United Kingdom, Canada and Germany. Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagraon of Punjab houses one of the oldest shrines of the place. A beautiful pond within the shrine attracts pilgrims from many distant places.

Guru Govind Singh was regarded as the 10th Sikh Guru, who laid the foundation stone for the Guru Granth Sahib, the Holy Book of the Tenth Emperor. Guru Govind Singh fought in a massive war against the Mughals. Guru Govind Singh died while fighting the Mughals. A Gurudwara was later constructed at the place where he fell and this place came to be known as Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagraon.
