Prof. Mohan Singh Mela, Ludhiana

Prof. Mohan Singh Mela, Ludhiana is a Punjabi cultural fest. This unique fair provides the ground for cultural confluence of the Punjabi folk artists and writers. Here the noted intellectuals are honored for their contribution to Punjabi Art Forms, Culture, Literature and Language. Cultural events are also organized here.

This Mela is celebrated every year by the Prof. Mohan Singh Foundation.

Apart from these there are many other special awards that are given out in the Prof. Mohan Singh Mela, Ludhiana.

In the morning the torso of Prof Mohan Singh is usually garlanded. The cultural programs are mainly held in the evening.

Celebrated singers like Hardal Jit Singh, Desral Lachkani, Iqbal Mohammad, Giani Ranjit Singh, Inderjit Singh and many others can be seen here entertaining the crowd. Dhadi and Kavishar Durbar are held here.

During the Prof Mohan Singh Mela of Ludhiana many exhibitions are also organized in the Punjabi Bhawan. Utensils, paintings, clothes and handicraft items are displayed in these exhibitions. Various statues are also show cased here. The statue of Prof Mohan Singh is one among them. Books by the famous Punjabi authors are also displayed in these exhibitions. Posters of famous Punjabi personalities are also kept for sell.

Artists, writers and dancers from all over Punjab gather in Ludhiana every year during this Fair. The aim of Prof Mohan Singh Mela, Ludhiana is promotion of Punjabi Culture and art forms.
