Most of the villages of the districts of Jalandhar, Amritsar, Nikodar, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana are engaged in the traditional handicraft industries of Parandhis which have a wide market.


The Parandi industries of Punjab are the most important handicraft industries that has helped to revive the old traditional art and craft of the state. The craftsmen of the Parandi industry has rekindled the artistic flare of the Punjabi people who are associated with this art since time immemorial. The Government of Punjab has taken several steps to promote the growth of this traditional craft and build a strong infrastructure to support the craftsmen with financial assistance.
