Bhaini Sahib

Punjab is the North Western state of India. There are a number of Tourist Places in Punjab. Other than the renowned tourist spots in the country, the tourists can take a time out to visit the other places of interest. Bhaini Sahib is such a place in Ludhiana.

Ludhiana in Punjab, had been a center of a sect known as the Kukas. The Kukas followed a devout life style and they were against the sacrifice of cows. The village of Bhaini Sahib used to be the headquarter of the Kuka sect. The guru of the Kukas, Ram Singh Ji was able to anticipate that the Non-cooperation lead by the Father of Nation Gandhi ji will take a new turn in the colonial India.

The movement of the Kukas was gaining ground during the same time. Ram Singh Ji also had high hopes that the movement of the Kukas would prove beneficial in the freedom struggle of India. Bhaini Sahib, Punjab is thus a glorious name in the history of Punjab.

The Kukas of the Bhaini Sahib in Ludhiana was also known by the name of the Namdharis. The members of the Kukas fought bravely against the British army.

In the battles with the Britishers, many of the Kukas sacrificed their lives for the nation in Amritsar and Malerkotla. The village of Bhaini Sahib has become a Pilgrimage in Punjab.
