Bhir, Ludhiana

There is the famous mosque built by Mohammad Ghori in Bhir, Ludhiana. There is an octagonal shaped structure which is the mausoleum of Alawal Khan and was built during the reign of Shah Jahan. Moreover it is surmounted with double pear shaped domes. There are two huge double storied gates in Bhir, Ludhiana that are profusely decorated with colored tiles and intricate brick carvings. There are rooms and verandas on all the sides.

The city of Ludhiana has a historical origin. It dates back to the 9th century when it was a small village inhabited by the Turks, Rajputs and Afghans. Ludhiana was under the control of the Mughals for a long time before it was freed by the Sikhs. The people of this city actively participated in India's struggle for Independence.

Apart from the Bhir of Ludhiana there are other structures such as the two storied double tomb of Husain Khan, the Bilwanwali Masjid, the tomb of Bahadur Khan with sloping walls and Mosque of Kamal- ud- din Khan or the Sarai Doraha on the main highway of Ludhiana also date back to Shah Jahan's time.

The Bhir, Ludhiana is a mosque that was built in 1911. It is an important tourist and religious destination of the city.
