Chilla Baba Seikh Farid, is a monument in the city of Faridkot City. The monument was built to commemorate the visit of the saint Baba Farid.

Thus the city Faridkot derives its name after this great saint as he halted in this city while on a trip from Hansi to Delhi.

Seikh Farid was a famous Sufi saint of Pakattan, near Multan, which is now in Pakistan. The divine couplets of Baba Farid have found a place in the holy scripture of the Sikhs.

A committee headed by S. Inderjit Singh Khalsa and other members from other sects in Punjab took the decision in the year 1969 to take care of two important historical places. The one is where Baba Farid has halted known as the Tilla Baba Farid and the other place is called Shri Godri Sahib.

It is the place where the belongings of Baba Farid have been kept, along with the basket. In memory of the saint Baba Farid, on his birth day a district holiday is observed.
