Takht Sri Kesgarh Sah

Considered as one of the holy sites of Sikh religion, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib is found at Anandpur Sahib. Famous for being the breeding ground of the Khalsa - the ultimate Dharma of Sikh disciples - Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib of Punjab exudes a holy air of reverence that spread across the hills of Shivalik.

Known to house one of the five Takhts, the site of the Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Gurudwara resembles the sanctimonious ritual of Khalsa. In 1699, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Leader of Sikhism, had been sworn in as the sacred saint of Khalsa. To memorize this historic event and to spread the holy sermons of Khalsa, Gurudwara of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib was erected at the Anandpur Sahib city.

One unique and quite interesting event, which had helped in enriching the saga of this Gurudwara, was the baptism of panj pyaras, who willingly and enthusiastically came forward to sacrifice their life to the feet of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This event has been scripted in the holy scripts of Sikhism in the later periods.

Defining the inherent message of philanthropy, commitment and devotion, Khalsa - the crucial religious succor of the Sikhs - continues to dominate the spiritual faiths and beliefs of the people. Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib is a wonderful manifestation of that very belief. Today hundreds and thousands of people, who religiously follow the orations of Sikh Masters, visit Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.
