Rajasthani language is constituted of five dialects- Marwari, mewati, Mewari, Dhundhari and Harauti. Each of these dialects of Rajasthani language is spoken in the different parts of the state. Further sub divisions in the dialects exist in the languages spoken in Rajasthan. The Ajmeri dialect, a part of the Dhudhari dialect is spoken by the people of Ajmer, the nearest city to Pushkar. The influence of Ajmeri is thus witnessed in the Rajasthani language spoken by the people of Pushkar. The natives speak this dialect to communicate amongst themselves.
Hindi, being the national as well as the official language of India, is widely spoken and understood by almost all. English as a language of communication became popular due to the ever increasing number of tourists visiting Pushkar Fair every year from all over the world. The emergence of Pushkar as a tourist destination in Rajasthan has made speaking and understanding of English a necessity for the development of the tourism industry.
