Ranchi, India is the capital of the state of Jharkhand. It is located on 23.23ºN latitude and 85.23ºE longitude. One thing that can be said about Ranchi is that, it is sometimes known by the name of city of ‘water falls and lakes’. Ranchi covers a total area of 35 square kilometers.

    • Tagore Hill: This hill is also known as Morhabadi Hill where brother of poet Rabindranath Tagore built a house.
    • Gonda Hill and Rock Garden: It has been formed by cutting the rocks of Gonda Hill. Kanke Dam is located at its foot.
    • Birsa Jaivik Udyan: It is the abode to various species of plants and animals.
    • Muta Crocodile Breeding Centre: It is the home of 50 crocodiles.
