Dahanu TPS

Dahanu TPS, one of the major coal based thermal power plants of India came into being in 1995. At present it has the capacity to produce 500 MW of thermal energy. DTPS has received many certificates for its consistence performance and also for its concerns regarding environmental issues.

One of the main Reliance Energy Associated companies, Dahanu TPS is a thermal power station that is based on coal. It was the first plant of India with the capacity of producing 250 MW thermal power. DTPS came into being in 1995. It is located on the western seacoast of Maharashtra, India and is about 120 km away from Mumbai.

Upgradation of DTPS:

The efficiency of Dahanu TPS has been proved since its establishment. The graph it maintains shows that the plant has undergone sufficient improvement and up gradation. DTPS is considered to be one of the best power plants of India. Being the largest power generating station of REL it has the capacity to produce 500 MW thermal power at present.

Environmental Concerns of DTPS:

One of the major concerns of DTPS is the current environmental issues. DTPS follows strict environmental rules and regulations to minimize pollution. The emissions of DTPS never cross permissible limits which reflect its genuine effort to improve the condition of the surrounding environment. It has introduced advanced system to monitor air pollution so that the plant's environment impact can be minimized.

Dahanu TPS has received the ISO 9001 certificate for the Quality Management System. It has also won the ISO 14001 certificate for the Environmental Management System it provides. Beside that the company has gained the OHSAS 18001 certificate for its Health and Safety Management.
