Wind Farm Projects

Wind Farm Projects have commissioned two projects in September 1999 and June 2003 respectively. An annual average of 23.94 MUS energy is expected to be generated by these projects.

Wind Farm Projects is one of the prestigious projects run by Reliance Energy Limited at Jogimatti, Hiriyur, Chitradurga, Karnataka, India. An 8.37 MW project was commissioned in September 1999. In June 2003 this major Reliance Energy Associated Company has installed another 1.8 MW Wind Farm Project. These projects are supposed to generate approximately 23.94 MUS energy per year.

Project Functions:

The Wind Farm Projects will cost Rs. 41 crores. These projects involve 36 windmills. REL is running these projects in order to keep a steady flow of the safest form of renewable energy that emits the least amount of pollution. Wind Farm Projects are trying to utilize this source of energy though a little of the whole wind power can be used commercially.

Achievement:

As of now 2000 MW has been exploited by the Wind Farm Projects whereas the wind energy potential in India is approximate 45000 MW. Wind Farm Projects have made significant contribution in the field of renewable energy.
