Sikkim Radio

Sikkim radio is an important part of the media services in the state. Although it does not enjoy the wide popularity of the television channels in the urban centers of the state, yet there are rural regions where radio continues to enjoy some degree of popularity. Radio in Sikkim is used by the people to inform themselves on the various happenings of national and international importance. Entertainment also plays a part behind the popularity of the radio at Sikkim.

Sikkim radio depends solely on the All India Radio, which is the only radio station in the state. The radio station of All India Radio of Sikkim is located at Nayuma in Tadong. FM facilities are not available in Sikkim as yet. However, the day may not be long away when FM will be introduced in the state and the popularity of radio in Sikkim will increase manifold as a result of that.
