The state of Tamil Nadu has a well developed “transportation” system. Railways
The state supports an organized network of railways that makes Tamil Nadu accessible to the other parts of India. The railway tracks are spread over an area of 6,693 km with six hundred ninety railway stations. Chennai, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchchirappalli and Madurai are the most significant railway stations of the country.
Air Ways
The state also has a well developed aviation system with three important airports at Chennai, Madurai and Tiruchchirappalli. The airports of Tamil Nadu are equipped with all the modern amenities that offers the passengers with a comfortable and safe journey.Inland Waterways and Ports
