Tamil Nadu Judiciary is headed by the honorable Chief Justice of Madras High Court. Presently Justice Thiru Ajit Prakash Shah is the Chief Justice of Madras High Court. Previously a judge of Bombay High Court, Honorable Justice Thiru Ajit Prakash Shah assumed the charge of Madras High Court from November 12, 2005.
Tamil Nadu Judiciary is the system of courts that administer justice on behalf of the State. It helps the state in matters such as resolving disputes. Tamil Nadu Judiciary is also responsible for implementing certain laws. Thus it is very important for the proper working of the state government. The collective effort of the judges and magistrates keep the other two bodies of the Tamil Nadu government functioning properly.
