Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy


The Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy of Thrissur was established on 12 April, 1938, with the endeavor to promote and propagate the traditional art and culture of Kerala. Located within the main city of Thrissur, the academy works in collaboration with the Kendra Sangeetha Nataka Academy, New Delhi to preserve and nurture Indian cultural heritage in general and Keralite cultural heritage in particular.

The Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy in Thrissur encourages the unity of the rich cultural plethora that the city is blessed with. Music, dance and drama of Kerala are an inseparable part of Indian culture and the Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy is constantly trying to preserve this rich treasure for the future generations to come. Accordingly, a regional theater has come up in Thrissur to encourage participation of the newer generations in these classical art forms of Kerala.

The Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy also undertakes research work for identifying and recognition of people and objects representative of the culture and tradition. The organization of various events and performances by the academy, showcasing the priceless treasure, truly deserve applause.
