National Socialist Party of Tripura

National Socialist Party of Tripura is one of the major parties of the state of Tripura in India. This party is one of the parties of the country of India that follow leftist principles.

Tripura National Socialist Party came into existence due to a political split among the members of the party called the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura. This split took place in the summer of the year 2003.

The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura is one of the most well known political parties of Tripura. The well known political figure Hirendra Tripura, along with many other people, separated themselves from the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura.

Shyamcharan Tripura, who was one of the most important leaders of the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura, also joined the National Socialist Party of Tripura. This party took assistance from those members of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council who were CPI(M) followers.

In the elections of the year 2005, the National Socialist Party of Tripura contested as many as four seats with the support of the Left Front. All these four people won the election. One very important fact about this political aprty of Tripura is that it has no connection with Nazism, contrary to what he name 'national socialism' suggests.

National Socialist Party at Tripura, being one of the main Tripura political parties, is an integral part of the political life of the state of Tripura.
