Social Welfare Department of Tripura

The Social Welfare Department of Tripura works hand in hand with the Social Education department of Tripura. In a broad spectrum, the Tripura Social Welfare Department undertakes welfare activities related to women, the aged, children, orphans and the disabled persons of Tripura. To spread its work further, it engages several NGO's dealing with several issues with more efficiency. This distribution of the work allows timely response to the required needs and complaints.

The Social Welfare Department of Tripura is under the charge of implementing government schemes including ICDS Scheme and making other policies. The works seep till through all levels of the districts, blocks and villages, encompassing everyone. With an endeavor to provide welfare for all, the department looks after the nutrition, health and immunization of the people of Tripura and especially takes care of child and mother welfare. One of the most important of the Tripura government departments, the social Welfare Department plans and charts its budget.

The Social Welfare Department of Tripura also arranges for training courses and orientation courses for those operating under the department. The Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education is In-charge of the Department.
