The state of Tripura in the north-western part of India is easily accessible from many other important places of the country. The rail head that helps to travel to Tripura is located at Kumarghat on the Northeast Frontier Railway. This rail head is located at a distance of 140 kms from the city of Guwahati and 1475 kms from the city of Kolkata.

The capital city of Tripura, which is Agartala, has an airport of its own. This airport offers almost all the facilities that one might expect in a good airport. The Agartala airport helps the travelers to communicate between Tripura and important neighboring cities of Guwahati and Kolkata. This airport is located at a distance of only 12 kms from the Agartala city.

There are three other airports in the state, which are smaller in size. These airports can make traveling to Tripura even easier in the near future. These airports are situated at Khowai, Kailashahar and Kamalpur.

The roadways of Tripura help in reaching Tripura from other significant places like Guwahati. The National Highway 44 connects these two places via the city of Shillong. One will take about an hour to drive from Guwahati to Agartala on this route. Some other important road distances from Agartala are: Kolkata - 1645 kms, Shillong 487 kms and Silchar - 250 kms.
