Uttar Pradesh Education

Uttar Pradesh is home to some of the most reputed educational institutes in the world. Like most of the other developed states in India Uttar Pradesh too has contributed significantly towards the education of the country. The standard of Uttar Pradesh Education is ranked among the best in the country.

The Uttar Pradesh Government has made numerous investments at all the different levels of education in the last few years. The Uttar Pradesh Government has also appreciated and recognized the role of the private sector in enhancing the educational scenario of the state.

Most of the schools in Uttar Pradesh use English as the medium of instruction however there are also few schools in the state that follow Hindi as a medium of instruction. Almost 80 percent of the schools in Uttar Pradesh are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examinations (ICSE).

Currently Uttar Pradesh has 20 state universities, 4 central universities, 8 deemed universities, and several other engineering, polytechnic, medical and law colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Some of the most renowned institutes like Indian Institute of Management (IIM) - Lucknow and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) - Kanpur are situated in Uttar Pradesh. These institutes are known across the world for their quality education.
