The 2000 year old city of Bharuch is basks prettily as its rests along the banks of the Narmada River. The city is famous for its numerous architectural edifices, majestic forts and towering monuments that are peppered all over the city. The city is opulent in innumerable in tourist attractions, one of which being a sloth bear sanctuary where bears, leopards and tigers are found in plenty. The sanctuary is enveloped in lush foliage and illustrates the mind blowing natural diversity of the city.
Also known by a multitude of other names like Broach, Bharakuccha and Bhrigu Kaksha, Bharuch is the cultural hot seat of the state of Gujarat. The city also has a sacrosanct past. Several venerable sages and hermits are known to have frequented Bharuch. However, the city's biggest draw remains its spectacular archaeological relics.
The 150-year-old Golden Bridge linking Bharuch to Ankleshwar over the Narmada River and the colorful bazaars displaying a widespread array of merchandise are some of the must see destinations in the city. Tourists can relax in the evening by going for long walks in the sprawling parks or catch a movie in the multiplexes or simply have a gala time shopping in the bazaars, malls or emporiums.
