On this sacred land of Ganga Sagar is the Kapila Muni Temple. It is believed that the sage Kapila Muni stays there along with King Sagara and Gangama. They are all Hindu mythical characters and are very popular among the local people.
Sagar Island also known as Sagardweep is the spot where the famous Ganga Sagar Mela is held. People from distant places come to visit this fair.
