Antara Mali Biography

Antara Mali is a sensational actress of the Indian film industry. She is the daughter of the well-known commercial photographer Jagdish Mali. Her mother is a actress in theatre and Shantanu Mali, her grandfather is a painter. Her debut film in Bollywood was Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge which was a small budget film and couldn’t do well in the box office. Whereas her second film Dum Dum Diga Diga was stopped halfway.

The famous Ramgopal Verma noticed Antara Mali and gave her next break in a Telugu film, Prem Katha (1991) which ensured her a very brief but a sensational role. She was the first choice of Ram Gopal Varma in his movies like Company (2002) and Road(2002) opposite Vivek Oberoi . She has performed in both meaningful and entertaining films. Her role of Madhuri in ‘Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon(2003) is one of the most acclaimed roles played by her. The film is based on the life of the famous heroine of Bollywood Madhuri Dixit. It is her special way of paying tribute to her favorite actress Madhuri Dixit.

Antara Mali acted in another Ramgopal Varma’s film Darna Mana Hai(2003) in which there are six stories blended together in the film. She has acted in the first story paired with Sohail Khan where this young, married couple is stuck in a dense forest. She played a sizzling role in Gayab(2004) with Tusshar Kapoor. Her next film was ‘Nach’ (2004) opposite Abhishek Bachchan. Antara Mali then tried her creative skills in writing and directing a film called Mr.Ya Miss in 2005.
