Spectators enjoyed extravagant comedy, romantic songs, music and action in Hindi cinema. Some of the most popular male actors of yesteryears include Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra and Raj Kapoor.

In the 70s and 80s' the living legend of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, played the role of "angry young man" to start a new trend in the history of Bollywood. Bollywood movies have audiences all over the world.
