Tara Sharma Biography

Tara Sharma is an actress of the Indian film industry. Her father Pratap Sharma is renowned author and actor. She graduated from the London School of Economics. She entered the show biz world with ad films and her her fresh and charming face won the heart of millions with the Lyril Ad.

Tara Sharma’s debut film in Bollywood was Om Jai Jagdish in 2002. The film was a directorial debut of Anupam Kher and she starred opposite Abhishek Bachchan, sharing the screen with artists like Waheeda Rahman, Fardeen Khan, Mahima Chaudhry, Urmila Matondkar and Anil Kapoor. Even though the star cast was huge it could not impress the viewers and failed on the box office. Then she performed in The Bill which is a very famous series on British Police. In 2003, she did Saaya directed by Anurag Basu opposite John Abrahim.

Tara Sharma’s next film was a comedy Masti, which is the story of three friends Vivek Oberoi, Aaftab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh who try to cheat on their wives Amrita Rao, Tara Sharma, Genelia D’Souza. The film was very successful but because of the huge star cast she did not receive much recognition.

Her next film was a thriller Bardaasht with Bobby Deol, Ritesh Deshmukh and Rahul Dev. As an actress her greatest achievement was her performance in the National Award winning film Page 3 directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.

She was praised by the critics of the film industry for the role of Gayetri Sachdeva. She has acted in few other movies like The Whisperers (2006), Aksar (2006), Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006) and Amavas(2005).

Tara Sharma has been featured in advertising campaign for Garnier.
