01 December 2018 Current Events Kisan Mukti March: Opposition come together in support of farmers

"The farmers of India are not asking for a free gift, they are only asking for their rights", said the Congress President, Rahul Gandhi, talking about the Kisan rally. Gandhi shared the stage with the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for the first time, with the opposition holding a united front in support of the farmers.

The farmers, under the banner of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), welcomed this political support, satisfied that their welfare is now a top election agenda for 2019.


G-20 summit: PM Modi in a trilateral meeting with Putin and China's Xi

The three countries - India, Russia and China held a trilateral meeting to address matters of cooperation, on the sidelines of the G-20 summit. This was the second trilateral meeting between the nations after a gap of 12 years.

"President Putin, President Xi Jinping and I discussed a wide range of subjects that would further cement the friendship between our nations and enhance world peace", Modi tweeted. Before this, the Prime Minister was part of another trilateral meeting with Japan and the United States.
