A student from North East and the son of Arunachal Pradesh Congress legislator Nido Pavitra, Nido Taniam was beaten up pitilessly at a Lajpat Nagar market. Next day after the incident he was found dead in his bedroom. Taniam was just 20-year old and belonged to Arunachal Pradesh. He came to visit his friend at Lajpat Nagar. They also alleged that Taniam died because of internal injury. The detailed report is expected to come on Monday though doctors have found external injury marks on his body.

Ministers reacted over the list of corrupt politicians by Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has announced the list of corrupt politicians that includes the name of top politicians. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will target these in the national election.  Reacting over this, union minister GK Vasan and Nitin Gadkari of the opposition BJP whose names are also there in his list said that Kejriwal must apologize as it is defaming their names. They threatened to sue him for this act. The BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Kejriwal should also include his own name in the list. But Kejriwal seems to be least bothered from threats and legal action. He announced the name of corrupt politicians in a public meeting of the AAP workers. The list also includes the name of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and senior ministers like Kamal Nath, Farooq Abdullah and Kapil Sibal. ‘Corruption’ is still the main agenda of the party who will contest for 350 out of the 543 Lok Sabha elections. The AAP stated that it is planning to put up strong candidates against corrupt politicians. With such a huge success in Delhi election, the impact of the AAP can be seen in the other parts of the country but opinion polls are predicting that the party will not get more than a dozen of seats in the parliament. The AAP has now also added the name of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the list of “corrupt leader”.

Cars fail the Global NCAP UN basic safety test

All the five cars i.e. Suzuki-Maruti Alto 800, Tata Nano, Hyundai i10 and Volkswagen Polo have something in common – these fail the basic crash test of Global NCAP UN (New Car Assessment Programme). These cars failed the test as not fitted with air bags, the basic safety equipment that every car must have. All the cars received zero in the rating for frontal crash at 64km/h. Volkswagen Polo cleared the test because it is now giving the safety feature in all its variants. Because of this hike in the price by 2.7% has been seen in Volkswagen with effect from 1st February 2014. The basic crash test is a front impact test at a specific speed. It is followed by most of the car manufacturing companies across globe. Only Ford Figo because of its design and structure cleared the test though does not have a driver airbag. India is the leading manufacturer of small cars but not bothered about the safety features.
