The Aam Aadami Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal released party's election manifesto - '70-point Action Plan. The manifesto promises to provide free Wi-Fi across Delhi, 50 per cent reduction in power tariff, 10 lakh CCTV cameras in Delhi for the safety of women and with a promise to bring the Jan Lokpal Bill and the Swaraj Bill. The manifesto is quite similar to the party's manifesto in the 2013 Assembly polls but this time the party hasn't kept any deadline for the implementation of its promises made in manifesto.
WhatsApp is testing its free voice calling (VoIP) feature in India which at present is available on invite-only basis and for Android users. To access this feature, user must have the latest version 2.11.508 of the messenger app. The software update for the same can be downloaded as APK file from Android section of the official WhatsApp website.
The US Federal Trade Commission has allowed Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd to buy Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. The approval has been done on a condition that the company has to sell its interest in a generic antibacterial medicine. Sun Pharmaceutical will buy Ranbaxy from Daiichi Sankyo Co, for $3.2 billion. The US Food and Drug Administration had earlier put a ban on various medicines from Ranbaxy to United States because these were not meeting US standards. As per media report it is expected that Sun will soon start selling medicines.
Indian tennis star Leander Paes with Swiss ace Martina Hingis won the Australian Open mixed doubles in Melbourne today. This is the seventh mixed double title for 41-year-old Peas and for Hingis it is her 11th doubles Slam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Leander Paes for winning the title. He tweeted, "Leander Paes continues to make us proud! I congratulate him on the Mixed Doubles win with Martina Hingis at the Australian Open"
With an announcement of six-point proposal by External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj it is definite that India working to improve its trade ties with China. But to reach at a new level both Beijing and Delhi have to implement an “action-oriented” approach along with much wider bilateral engagement. She even talked about border dispute and said that her government is working and committed to find out early settlement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the AAP and Congress a "dharnebaaj" and "pracharak" and appealed voters of Delhi to vote for the BJP for development and good governance. In an election rally in Dwarka, south west Delhi, PM Modi laid stress on the needs of Delhi and said that capital needs a sensible government as running a government is not easy but a serious task. He even added that if the BJP comes to power in full majority then the CM will have the fear of Modi and will perform.
