01 June 2016 Current Events Petrol price rise by Rs. 2.58 & Diesel by Rs. 2.26

Prices of petrol and diesel have been hiked in Delhi by Rs. 2.58 a litre and Rs. 2.26 per litre. As the second hike in the rates this month, petrol will now cost you Rs. 65.60 and Diesel Rs. 53.93 per litre. As per Indian Oil Corp (IOC), key reasons behind this price hike include the current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and the INR-USD exchange rate. 


DU Open House Counselling Sessions to commence from today

Counselling sessions for Delhi University undergraduate course aspirants would be starting from today and continue until June 11 across a variety of venues. These “Open House” counselling sessions witness the students and teachers in attendance, seeking answers for the admission-related queries from the DU staff. The sessions would be held in two batches from 10:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. and 04:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m. from June 1 to 4 at the University’s conference centre. 


Reliance Industries closes down few Dahej Plant Units

Reliance Industries Ltd. has shut down few units of its Dahej petrochemical plant in Gujarat due to water shortage. The lower release of dam water and the increasing level of salinity of water supply to RIL’s Dahej manufacturing complex has led to shortage of good quality water at the Dahej complex. RIL has temporarily shut down its PTA and PET plants.
