01 March 2019 Current Events Jammu and Kashmir: 10 % reservation approved by the cabinet for general poor category

The Union Cabinet has approved the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019. As per Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, this amendment will help the economically weaker section of the society. The decision is taken by the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will also serve the purpose of applying the relevant provision of the constitution amended via the Constitution Amendment Act, 2019 (77th Amendment) for Jammu and Kashmir.
