01 September 2018 Current Events India Post Payment Banks to be launched by PM Modi Today

The India Post Payment Banks (IPPB) will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today at  Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. These banks would be affordable, trusted and within the reach the common man of the country. 650 branches and 3250 access points shall be set up all over the country.


Dates Announced For Municipal Bodies, Panchayat Elections in J&K

The dates for the municipal bodies, panchayat elections have been announced by the State Administrative Council of Jammu & Kashmir. The elections of municipal bodies will be conducted in 4 stages from 1st to 5th October. Panchayat elections will take place from 8th to 4th December.


100m Lake Formed From Rain, Landslides in Uttarakhand

A 100 meter long and 50 meter deep lake is formed in the Uttarakhand due to persistant rainfall and landslides in the state. The lake is located near Tehri Garhwal-Dehradun border. The people living near the lake have been asked to vacate the area.
