01 September 2020 Current Events Maharashtra Government Relaxes Some Curbs on Travel and Government Office Attendance

On Monday, the Maharashtra government lifted restrictions on persons and goods' inter-district movement in unlock 4.O guideline. The government also announced a slew of relaxations while extending the general COVID-19 lockdown until September 30. Hotels and lodges will be permitted to operate at full capacity from September 2; however, restrictions will continue on schools, colleges, cinema halls, and swimming pools till September 30. The ease in conditions came even after Maharashtra continued to record the highest Coronavirus cases per day. Further, the government also allowed passenger movement by private bus-mini bus and other operators. The states Transport Commissioner will issue the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the same, the order said. Maharashtra government's Group A and Group B officers can also attend offices to 100 percent capacity from September 2. And private offices may operate up to 20 percent of their strength as per requirements. A vigilance officer will also be sent in every office to ensure social distancing norms that have been observed to contain the spread of COVID-19.
