India vs England, 1st Test Match, Day 1 update: A good start for India

This match was a steady start for India against England as the Indian team managed to send the hosts backs to the pavilion with 287 runs in the first innings. Sam Curran brought England again on its foot by taking the wickets of K L Rahul and Murali Vijay in the same over. Yesterday's match showed how swiftly the events can take a drastic turn in the test matches. Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root not only crossed the half-century mark but also the score of 216/3 on the scoreboard. With this performance, they were about to take the match away from the hands of the touring side, when the Indian captain, Virat Kohli ran out Root at 80 runs. The Indian team took five more wickets after Root till stumps. England only managed to add 69 runs more to the total score and wrapped up the match with 285/9. 

Continuous rains disrupts human lives in Nagaland

The lives of people in Nagaland have come to standstill due to persistent rains in the state. The rains have caused landslides, floods, and a great damage to the livestock and the property. The commuting routes have been closed due to landslides in various districts of Nagaland.

Jalgaon and Sangli municipal bodies' polling held today

The municipal corporations of the Jalgaon and Sangli cities of Maharashtra have undergone polls today. About 55 percent votes have been received by the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation so far and around 62 percent votes have been registered in the  Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad Municipal Corporation. In the polling, 754 candidates are competing for 153 seats in these two cities. The votes will be counted on 3rd August 2018.
