18 Lakh People Deposited Rs. 4.17 Lakh Post Note Ban

As per reports, on Thursday, CBDT Chairman Sushil Chandra said that around Rs 4.17 lakh crore of suspicious cash were deposited by 18 lakh people after the demonetisation of high value currency notes. Email and SMS queries have been sent to around 13 lakh people by the Income Tax Department, said Chandra at a post-Budget seminar in New Delhi.

He also mentioned that SMS and emails will be sent to the rest of the people by tomorrow.

Varun Gandhi on BJP's UP Star Campaigners List

Varun Gandhi, who was initially dropped from the list of BJP “star campaigners” in Uttar Pradesh, has been included for the third and fourth phases of polling in the state on Thursday. In a list of 40, Gandhi has been named as the 39th star campaigner.

The star campaigners list include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party President Amit Shah, Kanpur MP, veteran party leader Murli Manohar Joshi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Uma Bharati, Arun Jaitley, M. Venkiah Naidu, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goel, VK Singh, Mukhtaar Abbas Naqvi and Nitin Gadkari.
