02 September 2017 Current Events Terrorist killed in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir

On Saturday, the security forces killed a terrorist in the town of Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. As per media reports, “The operation took place in Tantrypora area of Kulgam early this morning.” On Friday, a policeman was killed by the terrorists on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway. This encounter comes a day after a bus was attacked by the terrorists at around 8pm in the Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar. The policeman (Head Constable Kishan Lal) along with three others was injured in the attack, and succumbed to his injuries in the Army's 92 Base Hospital at Badami Bagh cantonment in Srinagar.


PM Modi's third cabinet reshuffle likely to take place on Sunday at 10am

In order to run its saffron chariot successfully across the country in the upcoming General Elections in 2019, the Prime Minister's cabinet is set for a reshuffle. Probably the Last Reshuffle of the Union Cabinet ahead of General Election'19 is likely to take place on Sunday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prime Minister Modi will leave for China soon after the swearing-in ceremony to attend the BRICS Summit. Amidst speculations of who will be promoted, inducted and demoted - Rajiv Rudy, Sanjeev Balyan, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Kalraj Misra and Mahendra Pandey have resigned from their offices. However, Mahendra Pandey will now be Uttar Pradesh BJP's chief. As per the sources, 14-15 new ministers could be inducted, while 7-8 could leave, some for the party organisation. The upcoming state polls in- Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are due later this year and in 2018. Apart from performance, the state elections could be a possible factor for the reshuffle of the ministers. While the RSS and the top leaders of the BJP have been consulted, it is PM Modi and BJP's chief strategist Shah who will take the final call.
